Solar Program

Community Action Partnership of Hennepin County (CAP-HC) is partnering with All Energy Solar, a Minnesota-based solar panel company, to help make solar energy more accessible to families with low income. The initiative, called The Solstice Project, will help eligible homeowners go through all the steps - from assessment to installation - so that they can enjoy the benefits of clean, renewable energy.

Eligibility

CAP-HC Solar Program staff have already pre-screened households based on income, homeownership, and location requirements. Those pre-screened households may be contacted by phone and/or by mail to gauge interest in the program. Properties of interested homeowners will be evaluated and energy needs will be assessed to make sure that solar is a good fit.

If you are interested in learning more about this program, email us at caphcsolar@caphennepin.org.

Please note:

  • Participating in The Solstice Project will not affect your eligibility for energy assistance in future seasons. We simply want to help you reduce your energy bills and promote clean, efficient energy.
  • There are limited funds available for this program. Homes will be evaluated on a first-come, first-served basis. If you're interested in learning more, email us as soon as possible at caphcsolar@caphennepin.org.

Reasons to Choose Solar Power

  • Property

Solar panels may boost your home’s property value.

  • Savings

Over the lifetime of a solar energy system (usually 30 years), the average family can save $20,000-$75,000 in energy costs.

  • Bill

With utility costs continuing to rise, going solar can protect you from rate spikes.
