Sponsor a Family
When the coldest months of the year hit, it can strain budgets and add stress for people who already struggle to provide basic needs for their families. CAP-HC’s Sponsor-a-Family Program utilizes your generosity to help families with low income build toward stability so they can reclaim the celebratory spirit of the winter season.

How It Works
1. Now through November 11, CAP-HC is looking for sponsors to match with at least 10 families in need. If your group is interested in sponsoring a family, complete the sign-up form.
- You will receive an email confirming we’ve received your form as soon as it’s submitted.
- Within five business days, a CAP-HC staff member will follow up with you via email to provide more information about the Sponsor-a-Family Program.
2. CAP-HC staff will select families from our client households and match them with you based on the budget indicated on your form. Staff may match you with more than one family if your budget allows.
3. You may decide whether to purchase gifts from the family’s wish list or gift cards. To ensure sponsored families receive equitable support regardless of their size, sponsorships start at $150 for a family of two and increase by $75 per additional family member.
If you are providing gift cards
- Gift cards must be received by December 10. Drop them off at one of CAP-HC’s offices or mail them to:
7101 Northland Circle N, Suite 123, Brooklyn Park, MN 55428. - CAP-HC staff will arrange a time for the family to pick up the gift cards.
If you are shopping for gifts
- Wrapped gifts with gift receipts should be dropped off at one of CAP-HC’s offices by December 10.
- Please label gifts with the item name; the family’s last name; and the family member’s age and gender.
- CAP-HC staff will arrange a time for the family to pick up the gifts.
